You know what I am sick of? Blogging for money.
I first started blogging as a way to make money about 18 months ago. From everything you read about blogging it seems to be the answer to the # 2 question on the net. Which is "How can I make money online". I heard that some bloggers make $20,000 per month just from their blogs. (John Chow)
What a great opportunity to make easy money right? I mean all you need is a topic you know about, an Adsense or other advertising account and you're set. Just type, publish and count your riches! WRONG.
Making money from your blog is hard, very hard. There is a ton of time and effort that goes into it. Everything from coming up with an original topic, to getting your blog noticed among the 6,000,000 other blogs out there.
These are my top 5 reasons why you won't get rich blogging.
1. Blog readers don't Click ads (the majority anyway)
2. Pay per Click ads and Pay per 1000 impression ads pay too little. For any topic that the average person can write extensively about that is.
3. You will not stick with it long enough. Don't kid yourself, you won't.
4. The Competition is overwhelming. I mean really just Google your topic and there are most likely thousands of posts published already.
5. SEO is a pain in the ass and overhyped. You don't know what SEO is? Good keep it that way, you will be better off.
So I am done with blogging as a source of income. I will blog about topics that interest me and allow me to express my point of view. They'll probably be funny (hopefully), offensive, thought provoking, or just down right stupid. At the very least I will be able to get things that bug me off my chest.
I hope you continue to read everything I post and comment (good or bad). I want to know if I am alone on this (or any topic). Or if you feel the same way.
P.S The number 1 question is where can I find free porn.

My MVP site makes me about $30/month in advertising income from Google -- which about covers the cost of domain registration and hosting, so I'm satisfied. Have you heard of a company called ProfitLance? We have a friend who has been using that system and makes $$ hand-over-fist. I think those type of people just got lucky; I'm not sure it's a system just anybody can fall into. It seems very confusing to me.

I've never heard of profitlance but I'll check it out for sure.
It figures that just as I posted this I found out that I rank#1 for weight loss on google.
My numbers are starting to really starting to add up. I'm still going to keep the site updated since I love that topic, but it's not going to be my main source of income anytime soon.
